Matt and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend the Peruvian Hearts (click link) Fundraising Event today!

I was able to meet Ana Dodson, the founder, who is now a senior in high school, as well as her mother and brother who help her run the organization. Ana has been recognized nationwide for her accomplishments in Peru, especially since she started the agency at age 11! Ana kept reiterating that she wants her agency to continue making dreams come true in Peru, but also to inspire other young philanthropists to make a difference in the world. Many of the booths at the event today were operated by other non-profits started by children, like Lend-A-Paw (click link).

We watched a video featuring some of the girls that live in the orphanage built and reformed by Peruvian Hearts. The video emphasized that each of the young orphan girls has been given the freedom to dream and find hope in their futures.

the girls who live at the Hogar Mercedes de Jesus Molina in Anta, Peru are age 7-18.

We enjoyed perusing all the Peruvian handmade crafts and items!
